With over 28 years of experience in labor and employment law, Robyn S. Hankins has represented clients with nearly every employment related issue. Ms. Hankins graduated with Honors from the University of Florida College of Law and has been Board Certified by the Florida Bar in the area of Labor and Employment Law since 2001. She has been repeatedly selected by her peers as a SuperLawyer, and was named a TOP Lawyer by South Florida Legal Guide.
Ms. Hankins began her practice in a renowned employment litigation boutique, and worked in two of Florida’s preeminent litigation firms before opening her own practice in 2003. Ms. Hankins specializes in all aspects of employment law compliance and litigation, including Fair Labor Standards Act (wage and hour) compliance and disputes, employment and shareholder contracts and tort-based claims, unfair and deceptive trade practices, non-competes, disability law compliance, race, pregnancy, sex, gender, national origin, and disability discrimination claims, sexual harassment claims, employee discipline and discharge issues, layoffs and down-sizing, collective bargaining, grievance arbitration, negotiation of individual employment agreements for employers, and executives. She has handled employment cases on behalf of both individuals and companies, complex commercial litigation, intellectual property, and health care law issues. Ms. Hankins regularly represents a broad spectrum of clients, in court and before administrative agencies, arbitration panels, mediators and other alternative dispute forums. She works closely with her clients to provide individualized representations and find cost-effective solutions to their business and personal needs. Ms. Hankins focuses on finding strategic solutions for her clients, minimizing disputes or, where necessary, aggressively pursuing successful litigation.
Ms. Hankins not only serves her clients, but also serves the community. Ms. Hankins currently serves as Chair of The Florida Bar’s Executive Council for Labor & Employment Law, is past-Chair for the Palm Beach County Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Committee, volunteers in her neighborhood, and has served the Florida Bar’s Labor & Employment Section on a variety of committees. Ms. Hankins also frequently lectures on substantive labor and employment topics, and ethical considerations for lawyers. She regularly provides training programs for clients on matters such as sexual harassment and diversity training, sexual harassment training, managerial training, FLSA compliance, wage and hour compliance, HIPAA compliance, and related matters.
Ms. Hankins is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit and County Court Mediator and has been appointed to the mediation panel for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. She has experience mediating a wide variety of commercial and employment related disputes and has successfully mediated hundreds of cases since she was certified in 2006 by the Florida Supreme Court.
Ms. Hankins has written and is published on articles on a variety of employment law topics and she has co-authored materials on sexual harassment and damages in discrimination claims for various publications.
Ms. Hankins is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Florida Supreme Court and all Florida Courts, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.
